Cheralyn Lim has an assemblage-based practice that combines paper, painting and sculpture to explore abstraction in everyday imagery. Personal narratives drive her work. The result is colourful, immersive and tactile, with a playful sensibility.

Recent solo exhibitions include Paperwork at BUS Projects (2015), White Knuckles (2015) at Mailbox Art Space and Sandhopper (2014) at c3 Contemporary Art Space. She has participated in group exhibitions such as Blue miles for the ocean… (2013) at BUS Projects and Coloured Light Plays (2013) curated by Sandra Bridie and Craig Burgess. She has worked collaboratively with artists including painter Max Lawrence White, with whom she exhibited at DUDSPACE (2013). She also has an ongoing collaborative practice with printmaker Jaime Powell.

Cheralyn is a member of 5 Press, a group of five artists brought together by an appreciation for handmade books and prints. With 5 Press she participated in Melbourne Art Book Fair 2016 at the NGV and Artspace’s Volume Art Book Fair 2015. She also is part of Knight St Projects (previously Knight St Art Space), a collective born out of her time at the Victorian College of the Arts, where she studied painting from 2009-2011.
